TERMS OF SERVICE & WORK AUTHORIZATION

1. SCOPE OF WORK
HomeMate Handyman (the "Company") agrees to perform the services outlined in the approved estimate. Any requests for additional work made while on-site will be treated as a "Change Order" and billed separately.
2. CALIFORNIA "MINOR WORK" EXEMPTION
The Company specializes in maintenance and minor repair projects. In accordance with California Business and Professions Code, for any project where the total cost (labor and materials) exceeds $500, a formal Home Improvement Contract will be required. The Customer acknowledges that HomeMate Handyman operates within these legal limits for non-licensed specialty work.
3. ESTIMATES AND SITE CONDITIONS
Validity: Estimates are valid for 30 days.
Unforeseen Damage: Estimates are based on visual inspection. If, upon starting work, we discover "hidden" issues (e.g., rot, mold, termite damage, or faulty wiring inside walls), work will stop immediately. A revised estimate will be provided, and the Company is not responsible for the cost of repairing these pre-existing conditions.
Hazardous Materials: We do not perform abatement for lead paint, asbestos, or hazardous mold.
4. CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES
Clear Access: The Customer must ensure the work area is clear of furniture, breakables, and debris before the Company arrives.
Utilities: Customer shall provide access to working electricity and water.
Supervision: An adult (18+) must be present at the start and completion of the job to sign off on the work.
Safety: All pets and children must be kept away from the work area for the duration of the service.
5. PAYMENT TERMS & CANCELLATION
Due Date: Payment is due in full immediately upon completion of the work.
Methods: We accept Cash, Check, Credit Card, Venmo, Zelle.
Cancellation: We require 24 hours’ notice for cancellations. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to a $100 service call fee.
6. LIMITED WARRANTY & CLAIMS
Workmanship: We provide a 1-year limited warranty on our labor. This covers the physical installation/repair performed by us.
Exclusions: This warranty does not cover:
Normal wear and tear or "settling."
Defects in the materials/parts themselves (which are covered by the manufacturer).
Damage caused by the Customer’s misuse or neglect.
Claim Period: Any claims regarding the quality of work must be made within 72 hours of job completion.
7. PHOTO & VIDEO RELEASE
The Customer grants HomeMate Handyman permission to take "Before" and "After" photos/videos of the work area for insurance, internal records, and marketing. We will never share your name or specific street address in any marketing materials.
8. LIABILITY LIMITATION
HomeMate Handyman is fully insured for the services provided. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the total amount paid by the Customer for the specific service in question.
9. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any legal proceedings shall be handled in the courts of Shasta County, CA.
10. SMS MESSAGING & COMMUNICATIONS
Program Description: By providing your phone number and opting in through our website forms, you consent to receive transactional SMS messages from HomeMate Handyman LLC regarding service inquiries, appointment reminders, and project updates.
11. SUPPORT INFORMATION
If you experience issues with the messaging program, reply with the keyword "HELP" for more assistance, or reach out directly to [email protected] or call (530) 364-4059 during business hours.
Opt-Out: You can cancel the SMS service at any time. Just text "STOP" to our number. After you send the SMS message "STOP" to us, we will send you an SMS message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive SMS messages from us. If you want to join again, just sign up as you did the first time.
Help: If you are experiencing issues with the messaging program you can reply with the keyword HELP for more assistance, or you can get help directly at [email protected].
Interruption: Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Cost: As always, message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to you from us and to us from you. Message frequency varies. If you have any questions about your text plan or data plan, it is best to contact your wireless provider.
Privacy: All your communications with us are subject to our Privacy Policy, which can be viewed at the link in the footer of our website.
